| Studebakers and Packards will be on display at a free outdoor car & truck show in Custer, SD, on Sunday September 6 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Vehicles manufactured in four decades will be shown which will be both restored and modified models. The Dakotas Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club is the sponsor. Visitors to the show can vote for their favorite car or truck. Trophies will be awarded that evening at a banquet. 54th Annual Grand Ole Tour is being held on 20-22 October, 2016 at the San Angelo, Texas.
This will probably be the last time this event will be held in San Angelo for several years. Take advantage of this chance to learn more about what the surrounding area has to offer. Events and sights will NOT be repeated from previous year’s events.
The weekend will start with a Thursday afternoon social with snacks and refreshments. Friday’s tour will showcase the sheep and goat industry of the area with visits to Barton Club Lambs and El Camino De Las Cabras (goat milk cheese and soap) along with a tour of the Christoval Vineyards and Winery.
Saturday’s tour will highlight some hidden treasures with visits to a couple of antique collections, an old fashioned dinner theater for lunch, and sights of Native American pictographs including a mini Great Race. Saturday’s banquet will include a Halloween Costume contest for those who dare to participate. The host hotel will be The Clarion Hotel, $75.00/night plus tax. Tour registration fee before Oct 7 is $110 per participant, after Oct 7 fee is $125 each. Fee covers Friday and Saturday lunch, Saturday banquet, plus all entrance fees. The hotel includes a full hot breakfast each morning.
