Ken Tyrell
French Champion from 1949 to 1952 Louis Rosier raced Lago-Talbots to victory in the Belgian, Dutch and Albi Grand Prix. The Clermont-Ferrand garage proprietor won Le Mans with his son in 1950, and raced his own Ferraris and Maseratis in Formulae 1 and 2 and sports car events. Rosier, normally a safe driver, was killed at Montlhery in 1956, aged 51.
With Alfa Romeo's withdrawal and the lack of opposition to Ferrari, World Championship organisers went en masse to the 2-liter Formula Two for 1952 and 1953 (except for Indianapolis). Both years Alberto Ascari had a fairly comfortable ride to championship honours.

His tally of six wins in a row in 1952 remains unbeaten; although Jim Clark won seven rounds in 1963 they were non-consecutive. The Dutch Grand Prix joined the list in 1952 and the Argentine Grand Prix in 1953.
